When I was 6 weeks pregnant, my husband and I had a quarrel. We gave each other the silent treatment that day. That night before going to bed, I suddenly felt nauseous and at same time, wasn’t able to stop coughing. I jumped out of bed in the middle of the night and vomited my lungs out in the bathroom. He came into the bathroom, held my hair back and stayed as I vomited. He then brought me to bed, covered me with the blanket and kissed my forehead. He hugged me as we slept.
I immediately forgot what we fought about. Touched my tummy and thanked my baby.
Yesterday, 19 weeks pregnant, we had a quarrel. We gave each other the silent treatment yet again. I went to sleep at 9 to avoid talking to him. At 1am, I remembered wincing and groaning in pain as my lower back hurt. He sat up and started massaging my lower back. Seeing how the pain didn’t subside, he went to the vanity table, grabbed the bio-oil and lathered it on my lower back as I slept. He covered me with the blanket and kissed my forehead. He hugged me as we slept.
Once again, I forgot what the quarrel was about.
And once again baby, you brought mama and ayah closer together.
